Our counseling ministry is under the direction of Dr. David Shaw. He holds a doctorate in Pastoral Counseling and is a member of several counseling associations.
At Peachtree Corners Baptist Church, we are committed to serving God by helping others. Christian counseling starts with the understanding that the Bible is more than a book of facts; it is truth intended to make a difference in the way we live.
It is our belief that Scripture speaks to all of life’s problems, but that sometimes we all need the careful thought and prayerful wisdom of a trained and caring professional to offer encouragement, support, and insight during life’s difficult times of trial. Ultimately, the Bible points us to a relationship with a Person – Jesus Christ. The academic degrees our counselors have pursued in order to serve others are nothing compared with the surpassing worth of knowing Christ. Our greatest joy is to direct others to Him.

Each GriefShare session has three distinct elements: Video Seminar with Experts, Support Group Discussion with Focus, and Workbook-Based Personal Study and Reflection. For more information visit http://www.griefshare.org/groups/43775
DivorceCare is a special weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced. It's a place where you can be around people who understand what you are feeling. It's a place where you can hear valuable information about ways to heal from the hurt of divorce. Our next session starts Wednesday 8/9/2017.
Each Wednesday night meeting covers a specific topic and is "self-contained". We encourage people to start attending DivorceCare as soon as they hear about the program - even in the middle of a thirteen week session. You can continue through the next thirteen week session to cover any of the topics you have missed. The group meets in D 306 at 6:30pm. For more information, call the church at 770-582-2479. Child care is available by request.
DIVORCE CARE FOR KIDS
DC4K – Divorce Care 4 Kids: is a program that helps children in grades one through six who are experiencing difficulties that are associated with separation or divorce in the family. This class is offered twice a year. Classes take place in a cozy room setting, where kids feel loved and secure. Safekeepers (trained leaders), are sensitive to the needs and feelings of children in a separation or divorce situation, and help them find a deeper Connection2Christ that will enable children to feel His presence, comfort and peace, during this difficult time.
Our next session will begin Wednesday, 8/9/2017. DC4K classes coincide with the Divorce Care class for Adults on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm.
For more confidential information call Susan Rutledge, Minister to Children at 770-448-2450 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Founder, Dianne McGarey was led to organize the Happy Hearts Club (HHC) at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church after losing her husband of 26 years to Alzheimer's. Dianne had "been there" and she, armed with a troop of friendly volunteers, started the HHC in October, 2008. HHC is dedicated to the encouragement of those who are selflessly caring for loved ones at home.
Currently, HHC is Directed by Angi Lewallen, an RN who works at a local hospital. She started with Happy Hearts in October, 2008. She was a caregiver to her mother and father both whom had cancer, and her grandmother who had Alzheimer's.
The Happy Hearts Club meets weekly on Monday's from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is located in the Peachtree Corners Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. For more information, visit www.happyheartsclub.org.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:6-7
