Happy Hearts is a non-medical, voluntary social club which provides respite care for seniors in the community. This club is a social day program that provides care as well as companionship, socialization, and activities for older adults.

Happy Hearts Club is open to any senior at risk of social isolation or loneliness. Family members at times need respite care to run errands or just have time for themselves. While the care recipient is at HHC, the caregiver can benefit from up to five hours of personal time to meet his or her own needs.

A typical day includes morning coffee, prayer, enriching activities, stimulating games, entertainment, music, and crafts.

“No one knows how lonely and exhausting it is to be a caregiver unless they have been there.” -Founder, Dianne McGarey

Dianne was led to organize the Happy Hearts Club respite care at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church after losing her husband of 26 years to Alzheimer's.  Dianne had "been there" and she, armed with a troop of friendly volunteers, started the HHC in October, 2008. HHC is dedicated to the encouragement of those who are selflessly caring for loved ones at home.

The suggested donation is $20 per day. For more information, contact Susan Kearns at 508-415-0765 or snraek@comcast.net.
